Doc Edmund Mazza is one of my favorite people. He exemplifies the harmony that the Church needs to have of adhering to sound doctrine AND also having true charity. Today, Catholics either have one or the other… in short, we either have pharisees… or we have hippies! The first time I reached out to him with a question I had about a piece of art he showed in one of his online lectures, he got back to me and I remember being pleasantly surprised that I even got a reply.
Most “famous” Catholics, so to speak, don’t seem to care about the “least of Mine” and it occurred to me that the kind of person Doc is entails showing kindness to anyone who has a question and he will answer it with charity. Please, PLEASE, PLEASE, consider buying his latest book and signing up for his classes. Catholic colleges won’t hire him precisely because he speaks the whole truth about how saints handled anti popes. The irony is he over qualified. But we need him uncensored. He has become a dear friend over the years and I hope you keep him and his wife Tatyana in your prayers!
My Review of Doc’s Book:
Saints Against Antipopes by Doctor Edmund Mazza is a must read. Many of we Catholics are familiar with the famous quote by St. John Henry Newman of, “to be deep in history is to cease to be a Protestant.” Well, for those who read this book, it should be, “to be deep in history is to cease embracing antipopes.”
And to be both a lover of CATHOLIC history and to see examples of how the Saints treated unlawful clamants to the throne of Peter will shock you, even make you laugh at their no nonsense attitude towards thieves and robbers of the papacy (especially Saints and Doctors like Bernard of Clairvaux and Catherine of Siena) and will also… give you permission to speak out against the crimes committed against God, His Mother and His Church.
The crimes committed by the current cardinals, bishops and priests, which no doubt have led to the flock’s disorientated state. The greatest Saints of old leave a trail for us, a road map if you will, that we are to follow when the Church is in a state of paralysis. A state of eclipse?
This can only happen if you know your Church history, which “Doc” specializes in. Whether that be his remarkable Church History courses, his writings or his books. This latest work is no exception. For, to be deep in Doc’s latest book, is to cease being blind to the current papal crisis and get ready to “convict” and “evict” these wolves wearing white!
