This below reply was from our dear friend and benefactor from Hawaii! She is a holy third order Carmelite and her response was powerful and affirming!
I just wanted to thank you for your recent articles. I was flabbergasted by what you and Aflavia experienced at the hermitage in Wisconsin. I do hope those three young ladies will leave soon. It seems almost every religious order of women—Novus Ordo, trad, sede, and SSPX—has major issues with abuse. The Convent Reform blog has a detailed testimony of one young lady’s experience and the terrible abuse she and the other Sisters endured in the Benedictine Sisters of Mary in Missouri. It’s 40 pages long but worth reading. I was very disturbed to learn what is happening there.

It is the lead article on the blog homepage. You should write a lengthy post about your experiences in a JMJ Carmel. So many young ladies (many only older teens) enter these convents and suffer such terrible abuse. There is also another article about more abuse in the Sister Adorers. This time the testimony is from French ladies who left. I agree with you that religious life for women should be limited to two or three ladies. Lay groups of women have the same issues. The Confraternity of Christian Mothers at our trad Mass is always having drama because of personality conflicts or power struggles. Homeschooling groups were the same—continual drama. I avoid groups of women for this reason.

Ave Maria, Christ is King!
